Virginia Permit Test Practice

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) runs a two-part knowledge exam with a twist: the first part is 10 road-sign questions, and you must answer all 10 correctly before you can move on. Part two has 30 general knowledge questions, and you need 24 right (80%). Miss a single sign and you're done for the day, so signs deserve serious study.

You can get a learner's permit at 15 and a half for just $3 plus the license cost. Teens hold it at least nine months, log 45 hours of supervised driving (15 after sunset) and finish a state-approved driver education course. Many Virginia teens then receive their license at a ceremony in juvenile court. Practicing free on DMV Permit Prep lets you drill every sign until a perfect 10 is routine, then move on to Virginia's rules for passing, school buses and the hands-free law.
