Mississippi Permit Test Practice

Mississippi learner's permits are issued by the Department of Public Safety's Driver Service Bureau. Most teens apply at 15, but Mississippi is one of the few states where a 14-year-old enrolled in an approved driver education course can test for a permit early. Under 18, you'll also need proof you're enrolled in school.

The written test is about 30 questions on Mississippi traffic laws and road signs, taken on a computer at a DPS driver license office, and you need 80% to pass. After that, you drive with a licensed adult 21 or older in the front seat until you're ready for the intermediate license. Practice free on DMV Permit Prep so the test feels familiar before you sit down at the DPS computer.
