Idaho Permit Test Practice

Idaho's road to a license runs through driver training. Teens can get a Supervised Instruction Permit (SIP) at 14½. Anyone under 17 must take an approved course of 30 classroom hours, 6 hours observing and 6 hours behind the wheel with an instructor. Licensing is run by the Idaho Transportation Department, but you visit your county sheriff's driver's license office in person, which is a little different from most states.

The written knowledge test is stricter than most: it has 40 questions, and you need 85% (34 correct). After driver training, you hold your permit at least six months and log 50 hours of supervised driving, 10 at night. Idaho's youngest licensed drivers can only drive during daylight until 16. Practicing free on DMV Permit Prep helps you reach the higher 85% mark.
