Colorado Permit Test Practice

In Colorado, the age you apply at decides what training you need. At 15 you must have finished a 30-hour driver education course; between 15½ and 16 you can use either that course or a 4-hour driver awareness class; at 16 neither is required. The Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles test has 25 questions, and you need 20 correct (80%).

Colorado also offers the @Home Driving Knowledge Test through myDMV. You take it on a laptop or desktop with a webcam, and anyone under 19 needs an adult 19 or older registered as a proxy. After passing, you still visit a driver license office for the permit itself. Then you hold it 12 months and log 50 hours, 10 at night. Practicing free on DMV Permit Prep before you log in helps you avoid paying for a retest.
