Alaska Permit Test Practice
Alaska lets new drivers start earlier than most states: you can get an instruction permit at 14. The Alaska Division of Motor Vehicles gives a short general knowledge test of 20 questions, and you need 16 right to pass. Every question comes from the Alaska Driver Manual, including sections on moose and wildlife, winter driving and gravel roads that you won't see in many other states.
After six months on a clean permit, a 16-year-old can apply for a provisional license. A parent, guardian or employer must certify 40 hours of supervised driving, with 10 of them in tougher conditions like darkness or bad weather. The DMV posts a free sample test, and you can go further by practicing free on DMV Permit Prep until the 80% pass mark feels easy.
